Built in 1840, Bu Maher Fort is steeped in seafaring and pearling history. It is the first stop in the historical pearling path, and once served as the main fishing harbor and gateway to and from the sea. The center for visitors is accessed via boats, that leave from Bahrain’s National Museum harbor and is now followed by the use of a pedestrian bridge that allows access as well.
